Our stay at the Texican Court

When we first wanted to begin this journey, we were planning our summer 2020 trip. But who wants to wait a whole 6 months to start anything? This is America, so we started immediately. Our first stop was at this quaint little hotel called the Texican Court in Irving, Texas. It is right by the Toyota Music Factory (you can walk there, which we did), so there is plenty to do, with or without a car. On site they have a restaurant (Two Mules), bar (Tequila Bar), a fitness center, and a pool. Throughout the property they have little seating areas with fire pits and chairs, even games of corn hole. Furry friends are welcomed!

Y'all, the amenities they have to offer! They have a fully stocked Smeg Fridge with everything from iced teas to little liquors. And they don't just give you one of everything, they make sure you are set! They keep the theme going of the old school/old western motel in a modern world with all the attention to details. I mean, who wouldn't want to stay here?

They do offer room service from their restaurant, Two Mules, or you can walk on over and have yourself breakfast, lunch or dinner over there as well. Complimentary continental breakfast is offered for all guests, but you are welcome to purchase a hot breakfast for $12; we were offered eggs, bacon, and sausage from the hot breakfast if we so desired. The Tequila Bar is closer to the front entrance but does not offer any food; it is a great little welcome spot to start your night off well!

Across the street is the conference center of Irving. They are connected to a Westin if that is your hotel preference, but you can easily stay at this cute hotel for your conferences as well. Next to that is the Toyota Music Factory where all the night life is. If you are uncomfortable walking, you could easily drive on over (they do offer a 5 mile shuttle upon availability), but walking is very feasible. We started our night there at Stumpy's Hatchet House for entertainment. Since we have wanted to try hatchet/axe throwing, it was nice to have a location so close to us and it was a blast! The staff was very laid back and fun to work with and very knowledgeable. Plus it doesn't hurt that they have a beer wall for you to pour yourself with.

Once we had our hatchet fill, we went on over to the Yard House for dinner. They do offer a gluten friendly menu for those that need that, and are knowledgeable of what food allergies are in which dishes. Since we were with our husbands we were able to try multiple dishes - the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich, Orange Chicken Entree, Pepper Jack Burger (gluten sensitive), and a Classic Cheese Burger. Our server was attentive and nice for it being packed and a Saturday night. Dinner had finished and we worked our way back to the hotel for restful nights sleep!

We could continue to talk and write all night about just how enjoyable it was to not only get away but stay at the cutest hotel and try some new things out, but instead here's a few more pics that just wrap up how perfect this place was - from the gym and pool to the perfect courtyards. We will be taking separate trips this coming week and can't wait to share with you the different experiences we will be having the pleasure to explore. Go out and explore, live and love this life!
